Cotton Palm
The Cotton palm (Washingtonia robusta) is native to Mexico and is also known as Mexican Fan palm or Washington palm.
It is a hardy, fast growing palm to 20m with a slender trunk. It does best in full sun and tolerates a range of climatic extremes.
Old fronds are retained on the palm as a characteristic “skirt”.
Palm Transplanters can supply advanced specimens from 4m to 12m.
Washingtonia filifera is also known locally as the Cotton palm and is native to California and Arizona. Other common names are California Fan palm or Petticoat palm.
It is hardy, growing to 15m with a stout, thicker trunk than W. robusta. Similarly this palm retains old fronds as a “skirt” or “petticoat”.
Palm Transplanters can supply advanced specimens 3m to 10m.
